Acerca de The Last of Us™ Part II Remastered
I went in knowing the discourse around The Last of Us Part II like the back of my hand, which somehow made playing it for the first time on PC hit harder, not softer. Naughty Dog's post-apocalyptic action-adventure drops you into the scarred lives of Ellie and Abby, four years after the first game's ending left everyone wrung out. The campaign is long, relentlessly brutal, and deliberately uncomfortable. Some people find that ambition exhausting. Others find it unforgettable. The honest answer is it is probably both, sometimes within the same hour. On the core gameplay side, this is a third-person stealth-action game that puts genuine weight behind every encounter. Ammo is scarce, enemies are smart, and the combat has a scrappy physicality that most games in the genre simply do not pull off. You craft weapons on the fly, use the environment to flank, and switch between stealth takedowns and panicked close-quarters brawling depending on how badly a plan has gone sideways. The level design, moving between the snow-capped town of Jackson, Wyoming and the rain-soaked streets of Seattle, gives each section of the game a distinct texture. The real bonus for newcomers on PC is No Return, the roguelike survival mode bundled with the Remastered release. You pick from a roster of characters from across The Last of Us universe, each with distinct playstyles and traits, then battle through randomised encounter strings with boss fights sprinkled in. Dying sends you back to start, but unlocks carry over between runs. The PC version expands No Return further with two additional characters, Bill and Marlene, plus four new maps including WLF Streets and Overlook. It is a genuinely sharp loop that strips away the story weight and lets the combat mechanics breathe on their own terms. Guitar Free Play, Lost Levels with developer commentary, and a Speedrun Mode round out the extras. On the technical side, the news is mostly good. This port was developed with Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy, and it shows. NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 4 with frame generation, DirectStorage, ultrawide support up to triple-monitor configurations, and a fully uncapped framerate are all present. A handful of reviewers flagged occasional stutters when entering dense areas and some foliage pop-in, particularly on modest hardware, but nothing close to the rough launch state that plagued the first game's PC port. Steam user sentiment sits at 91 percent positive across thousands of reviews, which is about as clear a signal as you will get. Who is this for. Players who missed it on PlayStation and want the definitive version, players who bounced off the story in 2020 and are ready to give it another shot with fresh eyes, and anyone who just wants a technically polished stealth-action game with serious production values. If you are allergic to emotionally gruelling narratives that do not hand you easy catharsis, go in prepared. If you are chasing the No Return roguelike alone, it will earn its keep. Either way, the PC version is the right place to start.
