Strategic Command Classic WWI is a hex-grid turn-based wargame focused on the mechanics of early 20th-century warfare, not the spectacle. You manage supply lines, army composition, and territorial control across a scaled map of the Western and Eastern fronts, making decisions that feel grounded in the constraints of the era: trench stalemate, industrial output, and the brutal math of attrition. It's unpolished and won't hold your hand, but that's intentional, the learning curve separates curious strategists from those after a story-driven campaign. What works: if you've played Panzer Corps or older Avalon Hill hex-and-counter games, you'll recognize the DNA immediately. What doesn't: the presentation feels like it was last updated in 2005, and the lack of any tutorial means you're reading the manual or watching YouTube walkthroughs. This is for players who think Civ 6 moves too fast and want to feel the weight of logistics. Everyone else should pass.
