RoboWars
A retro tower defense where you defend planet Praymos from droid armies. Simple concept, rocky execution, know what you're getting into.
Veredicto de GamerScout
A barebones tower defense with a cool sci-fi premise that never delivers the strategic depth the genre demands - better options exist at every price.

Acerca de RoboWars
RoboWars is a classical tower defense game from N-Game Studios, set in a sci-fi conflict between the Solar Union and the Trade Confederation. Your job is to hold the line against waves of droids threatening the planet Praymos. If you have played any tower defense title in the last decade, the core loop will feel immediately familiar: place defensive units, manage resources between waves, survive escalating pressure. There is nothing here that reinvents the genre, and that is fine, but the game also does not execute the fundamentals well enough to stand out from the crowded field of free-to-cheap competitors on Steam. From a strategy depth standpoint, this is where RoboWars struggles most. Tower defense as a genre lives or dies on meaningful build decisions, which towers to prioritize, how to funnel enemy pathing, when to upgrade versus expand. RoboWars offers only a shallow version of that decision tree. Late-game scenarios do not introduce enough new variables to force you to rethink your approach, which means experienced players will find a working setup early and coast on it. The AI is predictable, enemy variety is limited, and the escalation curve flattens out when it should be ramping up. For players who care about optimization and late-game complexity, this is a real problem. That said, if you are completely new to the tower defense genre and want a low-pressure introduction with a sci-fi skin, RoboWars does deliver a functional, if basic, experience. The droid-versus-human framing gives it some personality, and the moment-to-moment wave defense is competent enough to pass an hour or two without frustration. Think of it as a training wheels version of the genre rather than a destination. Beginners will get the general concept of tower placement and resource pacing without being overwhelmed by complex mechanics. The technical side adds more friction. With a Mixed rating sitting at just 46% positive across nearly 300 Steam reviews, the community signal is hard to ignore. Common complaints point to rough performance, minimal polish, and a lack of content updates since release. There is no notable mod ecosystem to speak of, no Steam Workshop support, and no feature set that would extend the game's lifespan beyond its base content. For a title released in 2014, the expectation of long-term support is low, but the baseline package still feels thin. Bottom line: RoboWars occupies a very specific and small niche. It is not for strategy veterans, it is not for anyone who has already played a tower defense game they enjoyed, and it is not for players who value production quality. It is, at most, a casual curiosity for genre newcomers who want the simplest possible on-ramp to tower defense, and even then there are better free options available. The sci-fi droid-war premise is genuinely appealing on paper, it just never gets the execution it deserves.
