Resident Evil Requiem - Deluxe Kit
96% positive from 180,000+ Steam reviews and a Metacritic 92, Requiem earns that praise by doing something Capcom rarely pulls off: making two totally different play styles feel equally necessary.
Veredicto de GamerScout
Buy it if you want survival horror and action-RE in one package; skip if you need a strong standalone story.

Acerca de Resident Evil Requiem - Deluxe Kit
I went into Requiem half-expecting Capcom to play it safe, riding the goodwill of the RE4 remake into familiar territory. What I got instead was the series pulling hard in two directions at once and somehow not tearing itself apart. The ninth mainline entry splits its runtime between FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and series veteran Leon S. Kennedy, and the split is not cosmetic. These two characters play like they belong in different games, and that tension is the point. Grace's sections are proper survival horror, cramped corridors, a tiny inventory, near-zero combat ability, and a crafting loop that lets you harvest infected blood from downed enemies to create essential items. She can crouch to reduce noise, hide under furniture, and throw environmental distractions like glass bottles to slip past threats. The Care Center is the high-water mark here: a stalker enemy that never stops chopping in the kitchen, noise-sensitive zombies that swing IV drips at the slightest sound, and singing infected that shriek to draw the horde. Classic mode even brings back Ink Ribbon saves for Grace, meaning every checkpoint is a small decision. Leon, by contrast, plays closer to RE4 territory, faster, more aggressive, with a hatchet he can sharpen at will and a parry system that rewards well-timed reactions. His point store lets you upgrade weapons across the second half, and the shared Requiem Revolver (heavy, scarce ammo, absolutely worth saving for boss moments) ties the two protagonists together mechanically. You can run either character in first-person or third-person at any time, which is a small but smart accessibility win. The crafting, the perspective toggle, and the dual-protagonist structure are all additions that could easily have felt bolted on. They don't. Where Requiem earns its score is in pacing: roughly ten hours with no filler fetch quests, no bloated stealth sections that drag just to pad runtime. Every environment, from the Wrenwood Hotel to the sterile Rhodes Hill Care Center to Raccoon City itself, is doing work, atmospherically and mechanically. The sound design especially rewards headphone play; every creak, every glass shard underfoot, every distant shriek builds a pressure that the game never fully releases. The story is a shakier proposition. Long-time fans will get a lot of mileage from the Elpis virus mystery and the way Grace's mother Alyssa (a Resident Evil Outbreak character) threads into the broader lore. Newcomers are given just enough context to follow the surface plot, though the deeper fan-service beats will land flat without series history. Some critics have flagged the antagonists as undercooked, and the narrative resolution leans on the kind of campy sincerity the series has always traded in, your mileage on that will depend entirely on how much you already like this franchise's tone. The boss fights also get mixed marks from the community: the encounters inside the Care Center are strong, but a few later fights feel more reliant on spectacle than mechanical interest. For players who bounced off Village's action tilt, Requiem is a genuine course correction on Grace's side of the campaign. For players who loved RE4 remake, Leon's half will feel like a comfortable but well-tuned return. The game does not fully satisfy either audience at the expense of the other, and that is actually a hard design problem to solve. Requiem solves it well enough to be the strongest new-entry release the series has put out in years.
