It sits closer to a casual builder than a deep agricultural management game - there are no complex supply chains, no punishing resource cliffs, and no failure states. The loop is deliberately low-stakes: plant, wait, harvest, reinvest, repeat. The Oxygen Pack is a DLC content drop that layers additional cosmetic and decorative items on top of that loop, themed around a fresh, open-air aesthetic. From a systems perspective, Farm Together is not a game that rewards optimisation the way a production-chain sim does. Decisions are spatial and aesthetic rather than numerical. That said, there is a satisfying progression arc tied to levelling up farm types and unlocking higher-tier crops, buildings, and decorations. The Oxygen Pack feeds directly into the decoration side of that progression, giving players who have already saturated the base-game content catalogue something new to place and arrange. If you are the kind of player who spends more time on farm layout than on crop timers, this pack has obvious value. The co-op implementation is one of the stronger features in the base game, and the DLC content is accessible to all players in a shared session regardless of who owns it - a sensible call by Milkstone Studios that prevents friend-group friction. Performance is stable, the controls are approachable, and the tutorial is gentle enough that a complete newcomer can be productive inside ten minutes. That accessibility is genuine, not a shortcut - the game scales up in content density over time without ever weaponising complexity against the player. Where Farm Together falls short is depth. Veterans of Stardew Valley or Story of Seasons will notice the relative absence of NPC relationships, narrative hooks, and meaningful seasonal events. The game prioritises a meditative, undemanding experience, which is exactly right for its audience and exactly wrong if you want mechanical weight behind your farming decisions. The Oxygen Pack does not address that gap - it is cosmetic content for players already bought into the formula, not a reason for fence-sitters to reconsider. With a 94% positive rating across a large Steam review pool, the base game has clearly found its audience. The Oxygen Pack is a reasonable pickup if you have meaningful hours in Farm Together and want new decoration options to refresh your build. If you have not tried the base game yet, start there before evaluating any DLC.
