The full Evil Dead package in one shot: asymmetric 4v1 horror, a battle royale mode for 40, solo missions, and all DLC survivors and demons included. Groovy chaos, with real caveats.

Evil Dead: The Game is an asymmetric multiplayer horror title where four Survivors scramble across maps looting weapons, managing a fear mechanic, and hunting down Necronomicon pages and the Kandarian Dagger - all while one player controls the Kandarian Demon from a roving spirit-form perspective. The Demon builds Infernal Energy to summon Deadite mobs, possess environmental objects, set traps, or take direct control of possessed units to pressure survivors. It is closer in DNA to Dead by Daylight than Left 4 Dead, but it leans harder into two-sided strategy: survivors fight back with an arsenal of over 25 weapons including Ash's chainsaw, boomstick, and a scythe, while the Demon has three distinct classes (Warlord, Puppeteer, Necromancer), each with unique skill trees that evolve as the match progresses. The GOTY edition bundles six DLC packs - the Classics Bundle, Army of Darkness Medieval Bundle, Evil Dead 2013 Bundle, Hail to the King Bundle, the Immortal Power Bundle, and the Who's Your Daddy Bundle - adding survivors like Mia Allen, Ruby Knowby, and Brock Williams (who is immune to knockback and buffs teammates with auras), plus the trap-heavy Schemer demon based on Baal. Survivor classes span Leader, Warrior, Hunter, and Support, each character carrying abilities that meaningfully change team composition. The GOTY edition also includes the Splatter Royale mode, a 40-player last-deadite-standing battle royale that adds a scythe and grenade launcher to the weapon pool and runs at a faster, more chaotic pace than the core 4v1 format. Where the game genuinely shines is in how approachable it is compared to its peers. An in-match narrator guides new players through objectives in real time, and your current goal sits clearly in the corner of the screen. Compared to Dead by Daylight's wall of hidden knowledge, the on-ramp here is much shorter. The franchise fan service is also legitimately well-executed - Bruce Campbell and other original cast members provide new dialogue, maps include the iconic cabin and Castle Kandar, and the visual and physics-based gore system does the series justice. The honest downsides: the solo missions (five story scenarios recreating franchise moments) are notoriously checkpoint-free and spike hard at boss encounters, with limited heals making late-mission deaths feel punishing rather than fair. Early versions had netcode jitter that caused Deadites to warp during head-shot attempts, and the single-player mode requires a constant internet connection regardless. Live content support ended in September 2023, which means the game you buy today is the complete game, full stop - no future updates, no seasonal events. The servers remain up, but player counts have settled from the initial 500,000-unit launch window, so queue times can vary depending on the mode. If you are an Evil Dead fan who wants the definitive, everything-included version of this multiplayer experiment, the GOTY edition is the right entry point. If you are coming in purely as an asymmetric horror player with no affinity for the franchise and a small friends group to queue with, temper expectations on solo longevity - the multiplayer is the substance here, and it needs other humans to sing. Veredicto de GamerScout

Best for Evil Dead fans or asymmetric horror players with friends to queue with - solo content is thin and the game is in maintenance mode.
