Three expansions worth of raids, dungeons, and Exotic weapons for the price of a pizza night. The catch: Destiny's content ecosystem demands context before it rewards you.

I've spent enough time with Destiny 2's expansion back-catalog to tell you that the Legacy Collection is simultaneously one of the most content-dense bundles in live-service gaming and one of the most confusing things you can hand a new player. Beyond Light, Shadowkeep, and the Forsaken Pack cover years of story arcs, and collectively they represent the foundation of where Destiny 2's modern identity was built. Forsaken in particular is widely regarded as a franchise turning point: it reintroduced random weapon rolls, brought in the hybrid PvE-PvP Gambit mode, and launched dungeons as a format. Beyond Light planted the Stasis subclass into the game and opened up the Deep Stone Crypt raid on Europa. Shadowkeep is the weaker link of the three, a shorter, more atmospheric expansion that seeds the Darkness storyline but doesn't hit as hard mechanically. The quality spread across these three is real. What you actually get for your money here is primarily Exotic weapon and armor unlocks, raid access, and Nightfall tiers locked behind expansion ownership. The Beyond Light Pack hands you over 15 Exotics and access to the Deep Stone Crypt raid, a six-player encounter that reviewers consistently called one of the better-designed raids in the franchise, with role-based puzzle mechanics that reward communication over raw firepower. The Forsaken Pack brings the Last Wish raid and the randomized loot chase that the community still talks about. These are not casual co-op sessions. They require coordinated fireteams of six, callouts, and at least a few hours of learning. Whether that sounds like Saturday night fun or homework depends entirely on your squad. Here is where new players need to pump the brakes and read carefully. Destiny 2 has an ongoing Content Vault problem. Bungie has repeatedly rotated older seasonal content out of the game entirely, and while the expansion campaigns and raids in this collection are currently stable, the broader ecosystem shifts constantly. Gear from these older expansions also carries power caps, meaning some of the weapons you grind out will eventually hit a ceiling in high-end activities. The collection also does not include dungeon keys, which are sold separately for silver, the real-money currency. If dungeons are your priority, factor that additional cost into your decision before clicking anything. For a returning player or someone who skipped these expansions the first time around, this bundle makes logical sense as a catch-up vehicle. The Stasis subclass from Beyond Light is still a strong choice in PvE builds, the Exotic pool across all three expansions gives you meaningful chase targets, and the raid content alone justifies a few weeks of regular play. Solo players can squeeze meaningful story content out of all three campaigns, though Forsaken's campaign is the most narratively satisfying of the group. Shadowkeep is worth playing for the lore payoff, but do not walk in expecting a beefy campaign. The fireteam co-op side of this collection is its strongest argument. Riley, Scout Team
