For everyone else, the base game's free content updates already handle all the gameplay - new missions, new weapons, new modes, new enemies - and none of that requires spending an extra cent on this pass. What you actually get here is 17 DLC packs spread across two season passes, adding up to over 200 cosmetic items covering some of the most recognizable Space Marine chapters in the lore. Season Pass 1 covers Ultramarines, Dark Angels, Salamanders, Raven Guard, Imperial Fists, Space Wolves, Blood Angels, and White Scars. Season Pass 2 picks up with Black Templars, more Imperial Fists and Salamanders options, Blood Angels champion gear, Carcharodons, Iron Hands (including four successor chapters), and the Raptors. Each pack falls into two categories: Cosmetic Packs, which are broad armour and heraldry collections, and Champion Packs, which focus on a class-specific armour skin and matching weapon skin - and Champion Pack items unlock immediately, no grinding required. Here's the catch that the storefront doesn't make obvious: the cosmetic items in the non-champion packs aren't handed to you. They get added to the unlockable pool in the customization menu, and you still need to spend in-game requisition points - earned through PvP and PvE matches - to actually equip them. So buying the pass is really buying the right to unlock things, not instant ownership. Some players find that satisfying; others feel it undercuts the value.
