Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector - Black Legion

I went in expecting a full campaign and walked away with a focused skirmish engine. Battlesector: Black Legion is a turn-based tactics game that strips away story fluff and doubles down on Black Legion army construction and squad tactics. You're fielding Chaos Space Marines across small maps with destructible terrain and cover-based positioning that actually matters. The UI feels dated and there's zero hand-holding, so if you're not already familiar with 40K faction mechanics or tactical grids, expect a steep onboard ramp. What works: army list building has genuine strategic weight, and the Black Legion roster gives you enough customization to experiment. What doesn't: presentation feels like a 2010 indie project, there's no campaign narrative to anchor your time investment, and the player base is minuscule. This is for 40K die-hards or tactics nerds who want a pure army-craft sandbox with zero marketing veneer.
