About Variables 1 + 2
I booted Variables 1 + 2 expecting a logic puzzle experience, and that's technically what I got: a game about tweaking variables and watching systems respond. The core mechanic is sound, there's something satisfying about adjusting inputs and seeing outcomes shift. But the game doesn't hold your hand at all, and not in the good "figure it out" way. It's more like being handed a toolbox with no instructions or context. The presentation is stripped down to bare minimum, which suits the theme but leaves you guessing what you're supposed to be doing. Two games bundled together means some variety, at least, but neither title offers enough depth or tutorial scaffolding to justify a full recommendation unless you're the type who loves fiddling with systems in isolation. It's a niche puzzle tool pretending to be a game.
