Until You Fall

I've spent enough time in VR rhythm games to know the difference between a gimmick and genuine craft, and Until You Fall is the latter. It's a hack-and-slash roguelite built entirely around melee combat mechanics that actually respect your body: you're swinging weapons with weight and timing, not flailing at floating targets. The synthwave aesthetic pairs perfectly with the physicality of it all, neon geometry, pulsing soundtrack, the satisfying clink of sword meeting shield. Runs are short enough that failure doesn't feel punishing, long enough that you're learning enemy patterns and unlocking new weapon drops across each attempt. If you're VR-skeptical, this won't convert you. It requires space, commitment, and the willingness to get tired. But if you've got the headset and the arm strength, Until You Fall is one of those small titles that understands its format so completely it makes most bigger VR games look confused. Metacritic sits at 87 for good reason.
