The remaster adds visual polish and streamlined systems that actually make the early game feel approachable instead of hostile. Difficulty sliders let you tune research speed, disaster frequency, and colony growth without shame, which is smart design. Where it matters most: the late-game pivot from "survival" to "why is my water production circular-dependent on my polymer output?" stays engaging because the game lets you save whenever you want and doesn't demand real-time micromanagement. Controller support is solid. Workshop modding exists but the base game doesn't feel like it's begging for fixes. This is a satisfying 40-80 hour sit if you like building systems that work, not just fast-paced city tycoon thrills.
