About SpellMaster: The Saga
I went in expecting a spell-slinger fantasy romp, but SpellMaster feels half-baked. The core idea, building spells and casting them in real-time combat, has potential, yet the execution stumbles on murky tutorials, clunky menu navigation, and combat that doesn't reward skill so much as trial-and-error. Enemy patterns are predictable, spell interactions feel disconnected from their visual feedback, and progression muddles what you're actually leveling toward. There's a kernel of something here if you're desperate for magic-heavy combat and willing to overlook rough edges. But unless you're a completionist chasing obscure indie titles, the experience doesn't justify the friction. Bigger, better-realized spell systems exist elsewhere.
