Space Farmers

Space Farmers is a 2D co-op shooter that knows exactly what it is: lightweight, goofy, and built entirely around splitscreen mayhem. You and a partner grab guns and gadgets, blast through alien-infested farmland, and try not to accidentally kill each other. The charm lives in the purposeful silliness, weapon feedback is snappy, the pixel art has personality, and the pacing never overstays its welcome. There's no pretense here, no bloated tutorial or narrative padding. Just straightforward arcade action that respects your time. The catch is scope. This is a small indie project from 2014 with the budget to match. Levels are bite-sized, replayability leans on score-chasing rather than endless depth, and solo play feels hollow. But if you're hunting for a couch co-op game that's lean, earnest, and actually fun for a Saturday evening with a friend, Space Farmers delivers exactly that. It's the opposite of a 40-hour grind. Sometimes that's the whole point.
