SNK VS. CAPCOM: THE MATCH OF THE MILLENNIUM

SNK vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium is a fighting game that exists primarily as a novelty - two arcade legends colliding in one ring. The appeal is immediate: play as Ryu, Ken, Guile, or Chun-Li against SNK stalwarts like Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui. But the execution stumbles. The fighting engine feels sluggish and imprecise compared to contemporary titles, with hit detection issues and unbalanced matchups that make casual play frustrating and competitive play nonexistent. The roster is small, special moves lack impact, and the single-player campaign offers little incentive to keep playing once the novelty wears off. This is a relic that works best as a museum piece for fighting game historians or hardcore crossover fans who value the "I can't believe this exists" factor over actual gameplay. If you want a Capcom vs. SNK experience that holds up, seek out the later Capcom vs. SNK 2 instead. This one's a swing and a miss.
