Sharpe Investigations: Death on the Seine

I went in expecting a cozy mystery and that's mostly what I got. You're Taryn Sharpe, a journalist-turned-food critic, and your assignment to cover Le Roi Soleil's grand opening becomes a full-blown murder investigation. The game leans hard into adventure-game classics: inventory puzzles, character dialogue trees, and the kind of pixel-hunting that either feels satisfying or tedious depending on your patience threshold. It's low-budget indie work from 2014, so the presentation is functional rather than polished, but the writing has personality and the Paris setting works as more than wallpaper. If you're the type who misses point-and-click adventures where the puzzle logic is eccentric and talking to NPCs is half the fun, this scratches that itch for a few hours. Don't expect voice acting or animation flourishes. Do expect a self-contained story that knows what it is and doesn't overstay its welcome. It's a niche game for a niche audience, and if that audience is you, it delivers.
