Session: Skate Sim Schoolyard
A niche skating sim DLC that adds one new map but struggles to justify its cost with 69% Steam approval and repetitive trick gameplay.
GamerScout Verdict
A competent map pack for dedicated Session players, but thin on substance for newcomers or anyone expecting fresh mechanics.

About Session: Skate Sim Schoolyard
I approached Schoolyard expecting a meaningful expansion to Session's physics-heavy skating formula, but it's essentially a single map pack masquerading as content. The schoolyard itself is well-designed with natural line variety, benches, rails, stairs, and the environmental detail matches Session's commitment to realistic trick mechanics. However, if you've already spent time in the base game, you'll recognize the same trick system, same input timing windows, same progression loop. There's no new mechanics, no fresh gameplay layer, just a new location to grind the same tricks. The 69% approval rating reflects this: players who wanted map variety got it, players expecting something more substantial didn't. Worth grabbing on sale if you're already deep in Session's ecosystem and want fresh spots to film lines, but don't buy this expecting a gameplay evolution. It's exactly what it says on the tin, nothing more.
