Rover The Dragonslayer

I went in expecting a straightforward action romp, and Rover The Dragonslayer does deliver on the core promise: you play as a dragon slayer named Rover, hacking through enemies in a cartoonish take on a fantasy world called Awruk. The semi-open structure lets you move between hunting grounds at your own pace, which beats a completely linear corridor. The catch is that this feels like a passion project made on a shoestring. Combat is basic - functional but not particularly satisfying - and the lack of polish shows in the visuals and sound design. If you're hunting for a quirky indie action game with genuine personality and don't mind rough edges, there's something here. Everyone else should probably pass.
