Project Absentia

I spent a couple hours with Project Absentia and kept thinking about how rare it is to find a game this comfortable in its own skin. You play Abby, an angel armed with inventive weapons in levels built vertically and tactically, where interactivity isn't just window dressing but the actual rhythm of combat. The sprite work feels hand-drawn in the best way, clean lines, expressive animation, a genuine nod to early-2000s web culture without the nostalgia-bait hollowness. What strikes me most is the restraint. This is a short, focused experience that knows exactly what it wants to be and doesn't pad for runtime. The 98% Steam rating from 65 players tells you something: word travels fast among people who value intention over spectacle. If you've ever loved a Flash game that actually *felt* designed, Abby's arsenal and level geometry will speak directly to you.
