If the idea of stalking four soldiers through a jungle as a cloaked alien hunter puts a grin on your face, this bundle will scratch that itch - just don't expect a polished experience waiting on the other side of the queue.

I've spent enough time in asymmetric multiplayer games to know that the premise carries a lot of weight before a single match even loads - and Predator: Hunting Grounds has one of the strongest premises in the genre. One player controls the Predator, armed with a shoulder-mounted plasma caster, cloaking device, heat vision, and wrist blades, while four OWLF operatives scramble to complete paramilitary objectives - downloading intel, eliminating targets, recovering data - before getting to the extraction chopper. The tension when those two halves are clicking is genuinely great. Hearing the Predator's purr from somewhere in the canopy, frantically slathering your character in mud to break the heat signature, and coordinating a last-second extraction under fire - those moments feel exactly like the 1987 film in all the right ways. The bundle adds three DLC Predator variants on top of the base game: City Hunter, Samurai, and Valkyrie. Each comes with distinct cosmetics and enough flavor to make the Predator side feel more personalised, which matters because Predator is the role everyone actually wants. The fireteam side is serviceable - loadouts are built around a point-buy system with unlockable weapons and class perks that open up as you level - but the operatives exist mostly as prey. NPC AI soldiers padding out the mission zones are barely a threat and more of a resource drain than a real obstacle, which is a criticism that has followed the game since launch and never fully went away. Balance has been a persistent sore spot. The Predator is surprisingly fragile in direct confrontations with a coordinated fireteam, which cuts against the power fantasy the license promises. A stand-up fight tends to go badly for the alien, which forces smart play - treetop traversal, guerrilla strikes, judicious use of the self-destruct sequence as a last resort - but low-level Predator players get steamrolled regularly. Matchmaking wait times have historically been long for the Predator queue, and the PC player pool is thin enough that finding a well-matched lobby takes patience. On the flip side, when you do get a competent match with both sides playing their roles, the cat-and-mouse tension is hard to replicate anywhere else. This is also a game that wears its budget visibly. Texture quality in the jungle maps is uneven, the NPC villains are functionally braindead, and the number of maps at launch was slim - a criticism the community has repeated consistently across the years since release. The DLC packs in this bundle help justify the asking price with additional Predator customisation, and the progression system hands out Field Locker loot crates and Veritanium currency at a reasonable pace, but there is no single-player campaign here and no meaningful content outside the Hunt mode. If your intended squad falls through, the experience hollows out fast. Dedicated franchise fans who want the most authentic Predator game ever made - and can stomach its rough edges - will find more longevity than skeptics expect. Everyone else should go in with eyes open. Alex, Scout Team

GamerScout Verdict

Best for Predator franchise fans with a regular squad who can overlook rough AI, thin map variety, and uneven balance in exchange for authentic jungle-hunt tension.
