Police Tactics: Imperio

I spent a few hours with Police Tactics: Imperio expecting a Majesty-style chaos sim, but what you actually get is municipal logistics dressed up as crime-fighting drama. You're running a precinct in Newport Falls, assigning officers to calls, managing vehicle fuel and morale, watching your budget hemorrhage. The core loop works: dispatch a car, wait for resolution, rinse and repeat while petty decisions compound into precinct-wide consequences. The problem is execution. The UI feels like it was designed for a 2010 corporate intranet, tooltips are sparse, and the tutorial doesn't explain what you're actually optimizing for until you've failed a few times. The AI respects your constraints (limited units, real dispatch hierarchy) but the late-game feels like inventory management rather than strategy. Mixed Steam scores are accurate: it's a valid niche for people who want spreadsheet friction, but the dated interface and shallow long-term progression make it feel more obligatory than engaging.
