Need for Speed Unbound Ultimate Collection

I went in expecting a straight racing sim and got a stylized street racing game instead. Unbound leans hard into anime-inspired visuals and soundtrack choices, wrapping its career mode in a graffiti-artist narrative that's earnest if occasionally heavy-handed. The racing itself emphasizes drifting and aggressive driving over line precision, which means the handling model rewards momentum and flow over technical mastery. That's a shift from recent NFS entries, and whether you buy it depends on what drew you to the franchise. The campaign gives you enough variety in car types and race formats to avoid monotony, and the customization suite is surprisingly deep if you care about making your ride feel yours. Where it stumbles: the AI can be frustratingly rubber-band-y on higher difficulties, and some event design feels like it's padding hours rather than testing your skills. If you want a racing game that knows it's not trying to be Assetto Corsa and owns that choice, this scratches that itch. If you need racing sims to be serious, look elsewhere.
