NBA 2K23 Michael Jordan Edition (Xbox One/Xbox Series S|X)

I've sunk hours into 2K23's MyCareer and MyTeam modes, and the core basketball engine is solid: animations feel weighty, defensive positioning matters, and pick-and-roll spacing rewards actual hoops knowledge. The problem is everything else. MyTeam is a casino dressed as a card game, with pack odds designed to drain your wallet faster than a broken screen inbound play. MyCareer still suffers from the same bloated story pacing and relentless VC prompts that plagued the series for years. If you're a hardcore franchise mode player or live-service grinder, 2K23 scratches that itch. For everyone else, last year's 2K22 or even a few years back will feel nearly identical at a fraction of the cost. The yearly release cycle means you're paying full AAA price for roster updates and minor tweaks. That's the real game here.
