I've spent enough time with airport sims to know the difference between busywork and genuine decision-making. Mini Airways sits in the middle: you're drawing flight paths, managing runway capacity, and timing takeoffs to avoid collisions across real-world airports (London, Tokyo, Shanghai, and more). The mechanics are straightforward enough that a newcomer can hop in, but the difficulty curve ramps fast once you hit peak-hour traffic scenarios. Co-op play is where the tension peaks, coordinating with a partner under time pressure is genuinely fun, though the single-player experience can feel thin after a few runs. The mod tools and level editor extend replayability significantly, and leaderboards give speedrunners a reason to optimize. It's not a deep strategic experience like a full Paradox title, but for a casual management fix that actually demands your attention, Mini Airways delivers. Best in short bursts and with friends.
