Maneater

Maneater leans hard into its premise: you're a shark with a grudge, and the ocean is your hunting ground. The game wraps combat, exploration, and leveling systems around a simple loop of eating fish, boats, and humans to grow stronger and unlock new abilities. It's got the swagger of a B-movie that's in on the joke, with a narrator who treats your shark's rampage like a nature documentary turned revenge thriller. Movement feels fluid, and there's genuine satisfaction in the feedback loop of hunting, upgrading, and returning to previously inaccessible areas. The weakness is pacing. Mission variety thins fast, and the story doesn't sustain momentum across the full runtime. If you're after a tight, focused experience, Maneater overstays its welcome. But for players who want to sink a few hours into a dumb, charming power fantasy where you're the apex predator, it delivers exactly what it promises. Just manage expectations on narrative depth.
