GamerScout Verdict
For adventure fans willing to tolerate dated gunplay and a middling story for quirky bug-themed charm.

About Insecticide Part 1
I went in expecting camp detective fun, and Insecticide delivers half of that. You're Chrys Liszt, a rookie cop investigating a corporate conspiracy, and the insect-themed guns (flamethrower wasps, acid-spewing beetles) are genuinely inventive. The puzzle-solving bits work better than the shooting, which feels sluggish even by mid-2000s standards. Clue-hunting and interrogation scenes have personality, though the plot doesn't quite stick the landing. The real issue is that nothing here feels essential. It's not bad enough to warn people away, but it's not polished enough to recommend hunting it down either. If you enjoy point-and-click adventure sensibilities mixed with loose third-person combat and don't mind rough edges, you might find a weekend's worth of charm. Otherwise, this is a curiosity for completionists only.
