About Horizon Call of the Mountain [PSVR2] (PS5) PSN Key
I went in expecting Horizon's story and combat translated to first-person VR. What I got was a climbing simulator with motion-control combat tacked on. The setpieces are genuinely impressive, scaling massive machines, fighting robots up close, and the PS5 hardware flexes hard. But between those moments, you're grabbing ledges repetitively, and the narrative feels like a side story nobody asked for, which tracks since it's designed as an entry point for non-Horizon players. The real issue is the disconnect. Climbing works, but it's tedious. Combat in VR could be kinetic and engaging; here it's slow, floaty, and heavily scripted. If you own a PSVR2 and have burned through the better launch titles, there's enough spectacle to justify a rental. But it's not a reason to buy the headset, and it's definitely not the Horizon experience reimagined.
