I grew up clicking around Freddi Fish games in the 90s, so I approached this fifth installment with cautious hope. It's a straightforward adventure where you play as an anthropomorphic fish solving a mystery in Coral Cove, talking to characters, collecting items, and solving logic puzzles. The hand-drawn art holds up fine, and kids will probably find the silliness engaging. But the interface feels ancient, no hotspot highlighting, pixel-hunting for clickables, and dialogue that moves at a glacial pace by 2024 standards. There's no voice acting, puzzles are mostly rote, and the story won't grab anyone over twelve. If you're buying this for nostalgia or a younger sibling who loves slow-burn adventure games, it's harmless. Otherwise, modern puzzle-adventures do this formula better and faster.
