GamerScout Verdict
Solid VR action game for enthusiasts, but its short runtime and high price make it a risky buy for casual headset owners.

About Fracked [VR]
I went in expecting another VR tech demo, but Fracked actually commits to being a full action game. You're fighting your way through an oil platform overrun by enemies, armed with guns, grenades, and the ability to climb and vault across industrial scaffolding. The climbing mechanics feel natural in VR in a way that usually feels janky, and the gunplay has weight to it. Movement is handled well enough that motion sickness isn't the constant threat some VR shooters are. The main issue is scope. This is a linear corridor shooter with solid moment-to-moment combat but not much variety in environments or enemy types. It's also AAA-priced for what amounts to a 4-6 hour campaign with no multiplayer. Worth grabbing if you're a VR enthusiast hungry for a polished action game that respects your time, but casuals or VR newcomers should try something cheaper first.
