GamerScout Verdict
For patient sci-fi fans willing to forgive a slow Episode 1 in hopes the story pays off later.

About Elea - Episode 1
I went in expecting a walking simulator with real stakes, and Elea delivers that premise on Xbox: you're exploring a mysterious research vessel, piecing together what happened to the crew through environmental clues and scattered logs. The sci-fi setup hooks you fast, and there are moments where the isolation hits hard. Problem is, the pacing drags between story beats, and the puzzle-free exploration can feel aimless when the narrative isn't actively pulling you forward. Episode 1 reads as a proof-of-concept that doesn't quite prove its case yet. If you're the type who'd sit through a slow-burn mystery for atmosphere alone, you might find something here. Everyone else should wait to see if later episodes justify the slog.
