Doodle Mafia: Crime City

I booted up Doodle Mafia expecting either a strategy sim or a drawing puzzle game, and what I found was... something in the murky middle that doesn't quite commit to either. The crime city aesthetic is charming in a low-poly, hand-drawn sort of way, but the actual mechanics stay vague. If you're after relaxing doodle-based gameplay with a tongue-in-cheek mafia coat of paint, there's a kernel of appeal here. The problem is execution: the game feels half-finished, with unclear objectives and no sense of progression that makes you want to keep playing. It's the kind of title that works as a five-minute phone game but feels lost on a console where players expect more depth or polish. Unless you're specifically hunting for obscure indie oddities on Xbox, there are sharper casual games competing for your time.
