I went in expecting a full narrative experience and found instead what amounts to a love letter wrapped in early-2000s adventure-game mechanics. Doctor Who: The Adventure Games leans hard on puzzle-solving and exploration across recognizable locations and scenarios pulled from the show's universe. It's slower-paced than action-adventure alternatives and relies entirely on your patience with inventory management and dialogue trees. The writing clearly respects the source material, but the interface and pacing feel dated even for a casual adventure title. If you're a Doctor Who completionist or someone who still enjoys point-and-click adventures on their own merits, there's genuine value here. Everyone else should expect a niche experience without modern quality-of-life features. It's functional, inoffensive, and utterly dependent on whether the IP alone carries your interest through some clunky execution.
