Disney Illusion Island

I went in expecting a straight nostalgia play, but Disney Illusion Island is more interested in making you smile than challenge you. It's a side-scrolling platformer built around Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy teaming up to stop the Nightmare King. The art is gorgeous - that hand-drawn Disney look carries real weight - and co-op play keeps things light and social. Levels are short and digestible, which works great for pick-up sessions. The catch: combat and platforming feel overly simple, even for a family game. Enemies don't require much strategy, jumps rarely punish mistakes, and level variety dries up fast. It's not broken, just safe. If you want genuine challenge or clever puzzle design, look elsewhere. But if you've got kids in the room or want pure feel-good vibes wrapped in Disney IP, this scratches that itch without pretension.
