About Castlevania: Lords of Shadow ROW Ultimate Edition
I went in expecting straight Castlevania nostalgia and got something weirder: a cinematic action game built around whip-chain combat and quick-time events that feels more like Devil May Cry filtered through a Hollywood reboot. The core loop works, chaining light and heavy attacks, switching between whip modes, managing your magic meter, but the game pads its runtime with platforming puzzles and set-piece battles that drag. Bosses are the highlight, visually ambitious and demanding enough to make you respect the fight system when it's not railroading you through a cutscene. It's a decent mid-2000s action game hamstrung by pacing issues and a story that tries too hard to reimagine the Belmont legacy instead of just letting you hunt vampires. If you're hunting creature-slaying combat and don't mind dated QTE spectacle, there's enough here. Just don't expect pure Castlevania.
