Armored Animals: H1N1z

I picked up Armored Animals: H1N1z expecting a throwaway time-waster, and that's exactly what I got, but the kind that actually delivers on the promise. It's a straightforward tower defense loop: place your armored animal units on a grid, watch them fend off zombie-like creatures, upgrade between waves. Nothing groundbreaking. The visuals are deliberately goofy (armadillos with crossbows, rabbits in full plate), which either lands as charming or feels cheap depending on your tolerance for lo-fi aesthetics. Mechanics are simple enough to pick up instantly, but there's just enough unit variety and map design to keep a few hours from feeling wasted. Don't expect depth or polish. This is indie scrappiness at face value, rough UI, minimal story, zero hand-holding. It's the kind of game you fire up when you want something to do while half-watching videos, not when you're hunting for your next 40-hour obsession. Works best if you enjoy tower defense fundamentals and aren't bothered by production values that match the budget.
