About AquaNox 2: Revelation
AquaNox 2: Revelation is a submarine-based tactical combat sim that trades mainstream polish for niche depth. You pilot underwater vessels through campaign missions that prioritize sonar mechanics, torpedo management, and real-time positioning over arcade action. The core loop works if you're patient: identify contacts, calculate firing solutions, manage power distribution between weapons and engines. It's methodical, unglamorous, and genuinely punishing when you misread a depth reading or waste a torpedo on a decoy. The catch: the UI belongs in a museum, keyboard controls feel ancient, and the learning curve arrives vertical. There's no hand-holding here, and the game doesn't care if you bounce off the manual. If you've exhausted Silent Hunter or crave submarine tactics without the WWII setting, this is oddly compelling. Everyone else should keep walking.
