18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker 2
A 2015 truck sim that lets you build a hauling empire across brutal terrain, but don't expect the depth of modern titles.
GamerScout Verdict
Serviceable for players wanting light-touch truck hauling, but outclassed by modern sims in every mechanical department.

About 18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker 2
I picked up Extreme Trucker 2 expecting the granular logistics of a proper tycoon game, and that's not what's here. This is a straightforward driving-and-management hybrid where you haul cargo across extreme routes (deserts, mountains, arctic conditions) and gradually expand your fleet. The physics feel dated even for 2015, and the UI shows its age, but the core loop of accepting jobs, managing fuel and damage, then reinvesting profits into new trucks has some appeal if you want something lighter than Euro Truck Simulator 2. The main draw is the exotic routing and the sheer simplicity. There's no complex economy simulation, no intricate supply chains, just point-to-point hauling with escalating difficulty. If you're burnt out on deep sims and want a few hours of low-stakes driving, it's workable. Just don't expect modern polish or an active modding community. This is a 2015 relic that does one thing adequately and nothing else.
