What you get is a cerulean, arcane-charged serpent added to your mount collection, usable across all eligible characters on your account. The design has a clear lineage. The model shares skeleton and animation rigs with older wyrm mounts like the Abyssal Worm and Mail Muncher, and players noticed at launch that no new special animation was added for this shop release. That is a fair criticism. For a paid cosmetic, the expectation is that something distinguishes it from what long-time collectors already own. The arcane aesthetic does lean into Blood Elf visual themes and reportedly matches the Blood Elf Heritage Armor palette quite closely, which gives it a niche appeal for players who have built their characters around that look. But if you are after a mount with a standout idle animation or a unique silhouette you have never seen fly through Stormwind, this one may disappoint on closer inspection. The practical upside is the account-wide unlock and automatic riding speed scaling. Whatever character you log into, the mount matches their fastest available riding skill, so there is no friction in actually using it. It is also no longer tied to a subscription bundle, meaning you can grab it as a standalone purchase whenever it suits you rather than committing to a six-month sub cycle. The mount is not available in Classic titles, so if you play exclusively on Classic or Hardcore realms, it simply will not appear for your characters. Bottom line for mount collectors: the Greatwyrm sits firmly in the mid-tier of WoW shop mounts. The model is recognizable and the arcane colour palette is clean, but the recycled animation set holds it back from being a standout piece. If you are chasing the number on your mount counter or you specifically love the mana wyrm body type, it does the job cleanly. If you are selective about cosmetics and want something that turns heads in a capital city, the competition in the WoW shop is genuinely stiff and this one does not top that list.
