It fits the game's aesthetic. That part Blizzard got right. The harder conversation is context. The Runesaber is a cash-shop-exclusive item, meaning it cannot be earned through in-game play, rare drops, or achievement completions. It was introduced during the Warlords of Draenor era and has been a standing shop item ever since. At its standard price point it drew community criticism at launch, with players questioning whether cosmetic mounts should sit behind an additional paywall on top of WoW's subscription model. That debate has not aged away. If you are already uncomfortable with the way Blizzard monetises cosmetics in a subscription game, this DLC will confirm rather than resolve that discomfort.
