Wasteland 3 Colorado Survival Gear (DLC)
A small cosmetic and stat head-start pack for Wasteland 3, originally a pre-order bonus. Snow camo weapons, a hat with +1 to all Attributes, and a badge. That's it.

Acerca de Wasteland 3 Colorado Survival Gear (DLC)
Let's be straightforward about what this is. Colorado Survival Gear is a bite-sized bonus pack for Wasteland 3, inXile's squad-based CRPG set in the frozen post-apocalyptic wilds of Colorado. It was originally a pre-order incentive and has since been released as a standalone DLC. The contents drop automatically into your inventory the moment you start a new game, so there's zero friction, which is probably the most generous thing one can say about it. What you actually get: the Ranger General's Hat (plus matching glasses), which provides +1 to all Attributes and a certain general's-quarters swagger; a Polished Ranger Badge that rounds out the cosmetic side of things; and a set of snow camo weapons whose exact type is tied to whichever weapon proficiency you chose during character creation. If you built a sniper, you get a snow camo rifle. If you went shotgun, you get a snow camo shotgun. It's a small, clean touch that at least nods toward the base game's meaningful build customization. Now, does any of this matter in practice? Wasteland 3 itself is a meaty, reactive CRPG where your choices ripple outward in satisfying ways, combat runs on a turn-based action-point system with cover, overwatch, and a full squad of up to six Rangers to manage, and skills like Kiss Ass, Hard Ass, Toaster Repair, and Sneaky Shit give every playthrough a distinct flavor. The +1 to all Attributes from the hat is a genuine early-game nudge - Attributes govern movement range, AP, armor access, and more, so it isn't purely cosmetic. The snow camo weapons offer a modest combat edge over the gangs, cults, and assorted frozen nasties you'll meet in the opening hours. On the highest difficulty, Supreme Jerk, that early edge might actually mean something. On normal, you'll grow out of it quickly. The honest read here is that Colorado Survival Gear is filler-tier content when judged as a standalone product. It's the kind of pack that makes sense bundled into an edition you were already buying, but feels thin when purchased separately. There are no new quests, no story beats, no companions, and no mechanics that change how the game plays past the first hour or two. Wasteland 3's two proper expansions, The Battle of Steeltown and Cult of the Holy Detonation, are where the real content lives. If you're a first-timer who loves optimizing early builds or just wants the complete-edition feeling, this slots in painlessly. If you're looking for narrative meat, look elsewhere.
