I went in expecting a straight adaptation of Dumas, but The Three Musketeers is a casual adventure game, not a swashbuckling epic. You'll move around historical France, engage in turn-based or simple real-time combat encounters, and solve basic environmental puzzles to progress Richelieu's plot and prove yourself worthy of the musketeer name. The writing leans heavily on literary flavor and the setting does feel authentic to the period, which carries the game through its modest scope. What holds it back is execution. Combat is functional but repetitive, puzzles rarely demand much thought, and the production budget shows in asset reuse and simplified animations. It's not broken, just unchallenging and best played in short bursts. If you're looking for a cozy, low-pressure adventure rooted in classic literature and you're okay with indie-scale presentation, this scratches that itch. Anyone expecting depth or mechanical polish should look elsewhere.
