I went in expecting a cute indie romp. Instead, Ted by Dawn kicked my teeth in with frame-perfect jumps, relentless enemy spam, and a difficulty curve that doesn't ease you in so much as throw you off a cliff. This is frantic platforming in the old-school vein - fast, punishing, and designed for players who thrive on trial-and-error mastery. If you're the type who loves Meat Boy or Celeste's harder sections, the chaos here will feel familiar, even if the execution is rougher around the edges. The core loop works: dodge, jump, kill the undead things, don't die. But the game doesn't hand out explanations or tutorials, so expect a lot of learning from failure. That's not a bug - it's the design philosophy. For speedrunners and masochists, that's the hook. For everyone else, this is a hard pass unless brutal difficulty is your specific kink.
