Two of the strongest horror releases in recent memory bundled together: a lovingly rebuilt classic and a bold franchise reinvention that earns its own mythology.

I'd argue there's no better time to be a Silent Hill fan on PC, and this dual pack is the proof. You're getting two very different animals under one roof, and understanding that difference is the whole ballgame. Silent Hill 2, developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami, launched in October 2024 as a ground-up remake of the 2001 original. It plays in third-person, puts James Sunderland back in that fog-choked town searching for his dead wife, and folds in over-the-shoulder combat, expanded explorable spaces, and new cutscenes while keeping the puzzle and combat difficulty options from the source material. The atmosphere is the headline: the sound design, the pacing, and the visual grotesquerie of the Otherworld all land with real weight. Combat is intentionally clumsy - melee and firearms both carry a deliberate sense of helplessness that critics broadly praised as thematically appropriate. PC performance is the asterisk worth noting: without upscaling enabled via DLSS or FSR, frame-rate stability can be shaky, but with it running the game holds up well even on modest hardware. Returning players will find a faithful homage with modern production values; newcomers get one of horror's most psychologically dense stories in its most accessible form. Silent Hill f is a genuinely different proposition. Developed by NeoBards Entertainment and released September 25, 2025, it takes the franchise to 1960s rural Japan - the fictional town of Ebisugaoka - for the first time in series history. You play as high schooler Shimizu Hinako as fog consumes her hometown and twists it into something nightmarish. Scriptwriter Ryukishi07 (Higurashi When They Cry) shapes a story built around personal trauma, Japanese mythology, and themes of gender, maturity, and belonging. The combat is entirely melee-based, with weapons that degrade over time, a dodge-and-counter system, and a heavier action tempo compared to the remake. Puzzles are rooted in psychological suffering and Japanese cultural iconography - scarecrows, ritual, folklore. Critics responded warmly at launch, with an 86 Metacritic average and a broadly shared view that the narrative ambition and atmosphere more than carry the experience, even where the melee system drew some debate. As a bundle, the tonal contrast between the two games works in your favor. Silent Hill 2 is slow, suffocating, deliberately paced - horror as grief processed through architecture. Silent Hill f is louder, more action-forward, with a setting so visually distinct that it feels like the series stretching its legs for the first time in years. Neither game requires the other as a prerequisite. Silent Hill f is built as a standalone entry, so if you missed the 2001 original entirely, you won't be lost. The pairing rewards patience: play the remake first, let its atmosphere settle, then let the contrast of Ebisugaoka hit you fresh. If you can only stomach one type of horror, know your preference going in. Silent Hill 2 is for players who want dread that builds silently over hours. Silent Hill f is for players who want that same psychological core delivered with more kinetic urgency and a cultural lens that the series has never tried before. Together, they make a case that Konami's revival of this franchise is the real thing. Alex, Scout Team

Veredicto de GamerScout

The strongest horror value on PC right now, pairing a reverent remake with a franchise reinvention confident enough to rewrite the rulebook.
