Acerca de Serious Sam: The First Encounter
I went in expecting a joke. Serious Sam is anything but. This is old-school action stripped to its core: you run forward into flat, open levels swarming with aliens, and you blast your way through using a shotgun, rocket launcher, and increasingly ridiculous firearms. No regenerating health, no cluttered UI, no hand-holding. The level design is refreshingly straightforward, vast arenas where you can see threats coming from miles away and move freely to meet them. Enemy variety keeps the pacing sharp, and the damage feedback makes combat satisfying in a way modern shooters often miss. What works is the pure adrenaline. What doesn't is anything else. The graphics are dated, the story nonexistent, and the difficulty can feel cheap when you're swarmed. This isn't a shooter for tactical thinkers or story seekers. It's for players who want to aim, move, and survive without the AAA bloat. If you remember the 90s FPS era and want that back, this is your lane.
