I'll be honest: I did not expect much from a small German studio's first big swing at a first-person co-op survival RPG set on a dinosaur theme park island. Phantomedia, founded in 2021 out of northern Germany, has put together something that reads better on paper than most games in this budget tier actually deliver - and that alone made me pay attention. The premise does real work here. You arrive on Giant Valley island as a special investigator tasked with solving three murders inside an amusement park. The investigation angle gives the early hours genuine shape: there are NPCs to talk to, puzzles to untangle, secrets scattered around the environment. Then the dinosaurs start hunting you and the tone shifts into something more urgent. That pivot - detective work collapsing into survival panic - is the game's best idea, and if the pacing around it holds in later acts, Sentinel Agency will have earned its story-driven label. Combat is first-person and built around a binary that I respect: sneak past apex predators that are demonstrably faster and stronger than you, or pull out one of several weapons and fight through. The skill tree, which is already populated with meaningful build options at Early Access launch, lets you lean into either direction. Armor and consumables add another layer to how you kit out before a tense run through open territory. The first act - covering the tutorial building and the initial open area - reportedly gives players several hours of content, and the developers have confirmed plans to expand with more dinosaur species, weapons, quests, and full island access over an estimated twelve-month development window. The caveats are real and you deserve to hear them plainly. As of launch, only three user reviews exist on Steam, which means community signal is essentially absent. The game carries the honest Early Access warning that it is incomplete and may or may not change further. The co-op implementation, while supported for online play with friends, has had no meaningful public stress test at the scale that would reveal netcode or stability issues. And with a small studio behind the wheel, the roadmap is a promise, not a guarantee. What gives me cautious warmth toward this one is intentionality. The genre mix - murder mystery, open-world exploration, stealth-or-shoot combat, party RPG progression - is ambitious for a team this size, and the first act apparently delivers the skeleton of all those systems in playable form. If you have a co-op partner who loves dinosaurs and does not mind being a bug reporter for a game still finding its legs, there is genuine potential here. Solo players can go in too, but the experience was clearly built with a group in mind. Patience is the price of admission.
