I went in expecting a deeper tactical layer than Robot Squad Simulator X actually delivers. You control a team of robots across missions with basic positioning and command mechanics. The UI is functional but dated, and the mission variety plateaus quickly once you've seen the core loop repeat a few times. That said, if you're hunting for low-budget strategy content on Xbox and aren't fussy about polish, there's a competent little game here. The robot customization gives you something to tinker with between missions, and the difficulty ramps decently. It's the kind of title that scratches a specific itch for players who just want to park their brain in a grid-based tactical space without narrative baggage or high production demands.
