Red Dead Redemption
Fourteen years late to PC and somehow still one of the best open-world westerns ever made. John Marston's story deserves your time, and this port finally gives PC players a clean way to experience it.
Veredicto de GamerScout
The definitive way to play a genuine classic, best for open-world fans who want strong narrative and don't need multiplayer.

I went into this port half-expecting another Rockstar stumble after the GTA Trilogy debacle, and instead got one of the smoothest re-releases in recent memory. Double Eleven handled the PC conversion, and the difference in care shows immediately: the frame pacing is stable, crashes are effectively absent, and the game runs at up to 4K with ultrawide (21:9 and 32:9) support that makes the frontier vistas look genuinely stunning. Native 4K, HDR, extended draw distances, NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 are all here from day one. This is not a remaster, though. Textures on minor characters and some environmental props still carry their 2010 origins, and anyone coming straight from Red Dead Redemption 2 will feel the gap in visual fidelity quickly. What holds up completely is everything underneath the visuals. John Marston is one of the strongest protagonists Rockstar has ever written, a former outlaw coerced by government agents into hunting down his own gang so he can get his family back. The story earns its title. The pacing moves through dusty Mexican border towns, sweeping plains, and dense frontier settlements with the kind of cinematic rhythm that most modern open-world games still fail to replicate. Random world events, from ambushes to public hangings to strangers who need help, fire unpredictably enough that long rides between missions rarely feel empty. The core combat loop centers on the Dead Eye mechanic, a time-slowing system that lets you tag multiple targets and execute them in a single burst. It makes gunfights feel theatrical and strategic rather than purely reflexive, which suits the tone perfectly. Hunting wildlife, building honor or infamy through your choices, and poker games in saloons fill out the sandbox without ever feeling like a checklist. The honor system is simpler than RDR2's but it still bites back if you play recklessly. One genuine loss on PC: the multiplayer mode that existed on console was not brought over. Undead Nightmare, the fan-favorite zombie-western DLC, is included in full and acts as a substantial second campaign with its own tone and mechanics. The frame cap sits at 144fps even on hardware capable of higher, and performance in dense towns can dip noticeably compared to the open range. Those are the two real complaints from the player community, and neither is a dealbreaker. What this port represents, mostly, is access. If you played RDR2 first and have been sitting on the fence about whether the original holds up, it does. If you have never touched either game and want to start from the beginning of Marston's arc, this is the cleanest way to do it.
