I spent a few hours with Polygod expecting another Slay the Spire clone, but it's its own thing entirely. You're building decks of abilities to control polygon units in grid-based battles. The core loop is solid: run after run, you unlock card synergies and figure out which shape combinations break the game. Combat feels methodical, almost chess-like, and there's genuine satisfaction in chaining abilities together. The catch is that Polygod doesn't explain itself well. Tutorials are sparse, tooltips assume you already know the vocabulary, and early runs are a slog while you're learning. If you're the type who enjoys cracking open a game's systems through trial and error, you'll find depth here. If you want hand-holding or flashy presentation, move on. It's a game for people who like puzzles more than spectacle.
