Nocturnal wraps up its entire campaign in about two hours, which is either a feature or a bug depending on what you want from your action games. The core loop is solid: slash, burn, and parkour through obstacle-heavy levels with responsive controls and a steady difficulty ramp that respects your learning curve. The fire mechanic feels good to use, and there's enough environmental puzzle-solving mixed in to prevent pure combat fatigue. The brevity works in its favor for a certain kind of player. You won't hit an overstay-your-welcome wall where a neat idea gets stretched thin. That said, if you're hunting for replay value or deep build variety, you won't find it here. This is a cleanly executed sprint, not a marathon. Metacritic sits at 81, which tracks with what you're looking at: a well-made short game that knows exactly what it wants to be and doesn't apologize for the length.
