Pick-up sessions with friends in local co-op work fine, and the couch multiplayer is stable enough for a Saturday night, but the limited cross-play support means your online matchmaking pool is confined to other PC players. The honest verdict for PC specifically is this: the base basketball is playable, the modes are numerous, and casual players who just want to run a franchise or play quick exhibition games will find something here. But anyone expecting the full 2024 experience they saw in trailers is going to feel cheated. Madden fixed its PC port this same year. The 2K community noticed, and they are loudly unhappy about it. If you own a PS5 or Series X, that is the version worth your money. If PC is your only option, wait for a steep discount and go in knowing exactly what generation of game you are actually getting.
